Tradeport Electronics Group is a leading supplier of Test & Measurement Instrumentation for the Canadian market since 1982. The Calibration & Service Department is seeking two energetic, highly motivated, and organized professionals with a strong sense of urgency. You should be an electronics/electrical engineer or technologist with a strong background in service and calibration of electronic measurement equipment covering an extensive range of instrumentation. As a senior role we seek a minimum of 3 years hands on experience surrounding and keyed to the calibration and service/electronics industry. Due to increasing demand we aim to extend our capabilities within the instrument calibration sector to serve our customers. Ranging but not limited to manufacturing and service industries such as Medical, Aerospace, Oil & Chemical, General Electric?s and Food production etc. This exciting new opportunity will endeavor to strengthen our trade relation with new and existing clients as the spectrum of calibration and service will increment. *Essential Responsibilities*
The successful candidate will be expected to:
· Create and implement calibration and repair procedures
· Manage projects independently
· Provide a superior level of customer support to bridge strong customer relations
· Covering the electrical/electronic measurement Instrument we calibrate you must hold a strong ability to troubleshooting and systematically fault find down to component level on a broad range of equipment
· Be able to interpret industry standard schematics and drawings
· Provide technical expertise to various departments (Productions, QA, Sales)
· Technically Evaluate new onsite calibration contracts
· Implement NPI (New product introduction) to extend our instrument calibration range
· Provide and enhance technical skills training in-line with current innovation
*Essential Skill Requirements*
· A solid understanding of the theory of metrology and traceable calibration
· Experience with industry standard test and measurement equipment and the uses of such equipment in a metrology environment, such as multiproduct calibrators, such as Fluke 5560A, Fluke 5500A & Fluke 5700A, Electronic loads, High accuracy DMM (Long Range),High voltage probes & associated measuring equipment, Universal frequency counters, Signal generators, 17th edition multi product calibrators and RF power measurement instrumentation, lethal High current shunts etc
· A solid understand when calibrating lethal high voltage equipment
· Capability to operate reference test equipment used to calibrate temperature related instrument (Simulated and True temperature including infrared)
· A understanding of Health and Safety requirements when working in-house or onsite work linked to the manufacturing and service industry
· Familiarity with certification and documentation compliant with ISO/ IEC 17025
· A solid understanding of electronic principles and the ability to calibrate, troubleshoot and repair a broad range of electronic instruments, including, but not limited to power supplies*, *DMM, function generators, oscilloscope, power analyzer, data acquisition systems and radio & communication test sets
· Full capability to replace SMD integrated circuit components using the traditional hand flow soldering techniques
· Solid understanding of metrology documentation and application of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
· A understanding of EMC & EMI
· Excellent communications, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
*Bonus/Advantage skill set.*
· Experience with using Fluke Metcal software
· The implementation NPI process for Airflow/Wind speed measuring instruments
· A keen understand and familiarity with Pres
