A concrete finisher is primarily responsible for the final appearance and quality of concrete surfaces, ensuring they are smooth, level, and visually appealing. This role involves working with wet concrete, using various tools and techniques to shape, finish, and cure the material. *Key Responsibilities:* * *Mixing and Pouring Concrete:* Assist with the mixing and pouring of concrete, ensuring the proper consistency and quantity for the specific job. This may involve operating concrete mixers or working with pre-mixed concrete. * *Smoothing and Leveling:* Use hand tools such as trowels, screeds, and floats to spread and smooth the concrete surface. Ensure that the concrete is evenly distributed and leveled to the desired thickness. * *Finishing Techniques:* Employ various finishing techniques to achieve the desired texture and appearance of the concrete surface. This may include broom finishing, stamping, staining, or polishing, depending on the project requirements. * *Edging and Jointing:* Create defined edges and joints in the concrete to enhance its durability and aesthetics. This may involve using edging tools or jointers to create clean lines and prevent cracking. * *Curing and Sealing:* Apply curing compounds or sealants to the finished concrete surface to promote proper curing and protect it from damage caused by weather, moisture, or abrasion. * *Cleanup and Maintenance:* Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency. Properly dispose of excess materials and waste according to environmental regulations. *Skills and Qualifications:* * *Experience:* Must have 3 plus years of concrete experience. No experience need not apply. * *Physical Stamina:* Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions. * *Attention to Detail:* Precision and attention to detail are essential for achieving high-quality concrete finishes. * *Knowledge of Tools:* Familiarity with hand and power tools used in concrete finishing, such as trowels, floats, screeds, edgers and leveling bars. * *Safety Awareness:* Understanding of safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 ? 50 per week Schedule: * 10 hour shift * Monday to Friday Experience: * concrete: 3 years (required) Language: * English (preferred) Licence/Certification: * Driving Licence (required) Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2024-10-28- LocationCalgary, AB
