We are currently seeking a Lead Carpenter position that can operate and manage projects and crews of 2 - 3 employees. Candidates must be licensed Red-Seal general carpenters, well rounded in all areas of the carpentry and construction trade. Our clients are mainly private and public tenders located within a radius of 1 hour of the City of Peterborough. Job Description _Our Philosophy_ We build more than just buildings. We are currently seeking a Lead Carpenter position that can operate and manage projects and crews of 2 - 3 employees. Candidates must be licensed Red-Seal general carpenters, well rounded in all areas of the carpentry and construction trade. Our clients are mainly private and public tenders located within a radius of 1 hour of the City of Peterborough. *Work Conditions: * * Must be able to drive full size truck and trailers * Must be comfortable and presentable to work with residential and commercial clients * Work environment is both inside and outside work *Salary:* * Hourly wage between $27.00 - $34.00 /hr dependent on experience and after a 3 month review of work quality and timelines met *Responsibilities:* * Carpentry Related duties including: Blueprint Reading, Layout, Form work, Framing, Windows and Doors, Exterior finishes, Aluminum work, Interior finishes, trim work, mill work installs. * Work with other trades to assure smooth progression of projects * Communicate with office regarding timelines and change work orders * Arrange material orders, dump runs, tool rentals and staff requirements with G.C. *Pre-Requisites & Experience:* * Must have strong background in residential and light commercial construction * Must have a minimum of 4 years experience doing carpentry * Must have a clean driving abstract & clean criminal record * Must own reliable mode of transportation * Must have personal tools (belt & drills) * First Aid certificate preferred * Ontario Health and Safety Awareness program * Working at Heights * Aerial platform lift certificate preferred * Knowledge and ability to interpret O.B.C. *Skills:* * Safe building practices * Demolition * Forming * Framing * Siding * Windows/Doors * Insulation * Drywall * Flooring * Excellent trim skills * Understanding of basic electrical and plumbing (all work to be done by licensed trades, more for planning and problem solving with trades) * Read Blueprints * Problem solving skills an asset *Job Type:* * Full-time (40-44 hrs per week) *Licenses:* * Preferred Red Seal Ticket as a General Carpenter (proof required) * G License * Working at Heights * Ontario Health & Safety Awareness * (Preferred) Aerial platform certificate * (Preferred) First Aid & CPR *Language:* * English Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $27.00-$34.00 per hour Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 42.5 per week Benefits: * Company events Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * No weekends Experience: * Carpentry: 5 years- LocationPeterborough, ON
