Applicants are encouraged to self-identify on their electronic application.Reporting to the Manager, Collective Impact, the key focus for this team is to advance the implementation of HalifACT, the municipality's ambitious climate action plan, within the organization and across community including partners, stakeholders and residents. To move at the speed and scale required to achieve our climate goals, the Collective Impact Team leads collaborative initiatives to drive impact on sustainability and climate action.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Builds positive public and private sector relationships and partnerships.Collects, prepares, writes, and organizes public education and awareness information with respect to environmental performance measuring and reporting and climate action.Liaises and communicates with environment-related partners and groups.Supports the activities of consultants and contractors.Assists with the development of proposals, tender documents, reports, policies, projects and programs.Liaises with other business units and external agencies, groups and departments in the collection, compilation, and reporting of data.Undertakes research and provides technical and administrative support for the initiatives of HalifACT and other environmental work.Develops and maintains data bases related to environmental performance measurement.Writes and prepares reports, presentations, and background material for senior management.Assists in the preparation of Regional Council Reports and other public documentMay perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:Post-secondary degree in science, engineering, commerce, social science, or other related degree or diploma.1 year of relevant combined work and volunteer experience.Proficient with computers with strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.Technical/Job-Specific Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of environmental sustainability and environmental performance measuringKnowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and actsKnowledge of municipal acts, by-laws, policies and proceduresKnowledge of environmental science, mitigation, adaptation, and best management practices for environmental protectionKnowledge of software and technology such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), spreadsheets, etc.Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants may be required to complete an employment security screening check.Please note - Testing may be conducted as a component of the selection process to assess technical and job-specific knowledge.
