The region boasts unlimited year-round outdoor recreation including skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, mountaineering, white-water rafting, and snowmobiling. The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) serves over 65,000 permanent residents and about 25,000 to 30,000 seasonal residents. The region is home to several diverse communities, including several unincorporated communities; eight municipalities, and four First Nations communities. We are seeking a key senior management team member to serve as the subject matter expert in Human Resources and provide strategic and professional advice to the Chief Administrative Officer, Managers, and employees. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the development and delivery of human resources services and programs and supporting the management of labour and employee relations of approximately 90 employees in 9 departments in a unionized environment. This position is ideal for a qualified candidate passionate about delivering human resource services through a strategic and employee-focused lens. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting organizational capacity and an engaged workforce. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Managers, Employees, and Union representatives is a must.Qualifications and Experience: An undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of progressively more responsible human resources generalist experience including experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Union representatives.
