*JOB SUMMARY*
A Graphic Designer is a graphic design role responsible for culturally appropriate and editorial format graphic designing within Tsuut?ina Communications. This role requires knowledge of Tsuut?ina Nation history, culture and protocols, as well as policies and procedures. This role requires skillsets in graphic design and text layout hierarchy, print knowledge, booklet development; as well as receiving critical feedback. This role involves maintaining stationary graphic design documents pertaining to Tsuut?ina Nation Administration. The Graphic Designer role involves upholding Tsuut?ina Nation Administration Brand Identity Guidelines to ensure all internal and external publications are utilizing Tsuut?ina Nation imagery and designs correctly. This role is critical in assistance with coordination of emergency and community-based communication. Understanding and assistance in mass delivering information through communication streams accountable to Tsuut?ina Nation services offered in Communications (Online, digital, paper/mail). Through mass communication streams, this role is responsible in understanding collaborative efforts with administrative entities accountable to emergency and operative services for on and off Nation residents.
The work hours for this role may be irregular depending on project deadlines and/or work-related issues that require immediate attention. As such, this individual is required to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, flexibility, time management, meeting interdepartmental needs, work independently and within a team. The role involves interpersonal skills to positively interact with all Nation citizens, Tsuut?ina Nation Head Chief & Minor Chiefs, professionals and government officials.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Maintaining Administration Brand Identity
* Developing and maintaining stationary graphic design documents
* Maintaining collaborative efforts in gathering editorial content and liaison with Nation Administration and community for Nation Newsletter
* Ensure all design documents are packaged and equipped with task lists for streamline processes
* Ensure all documents are current drafts unless approval process through lines of authority are confirmed
* Understanding of shared project streamlining within the department
* Streamline approved information sharing on Nation App, Website, Email, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram
* Understanding of digital formatting, exporting documents to digital formats required in assistance of products required such as paper, stationary design documents and merchandise (formats such as .pdf, .ai, .png, .eps, .psd, .dst)
* Must have an understanding of print sizes such as letter size, legal, tabloid, business card.
* Assist with community engagement and strategies; attending events/gatherings if schedule persists
* Must be discreet regarding all confidential matters relating to Tsuut?ina Nation (required to take an oath of confidentiality)
* Ability to develop strong working relationships within and outside the Administration
* Have strong organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask, be flexible to change and adapt easily when short notice is given
* Travel and event planning may be required
*QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:*
* Proven experience (2-5 years) in graphic design and visual arts
* BSc/BA, diploma, certificate in graphic design and visual arts
* Class 5 Drivers license and reliable vehicle
* Attendance in Tsuut?ina Gunaha Institute classes
* Attendance in Cultural Sensitivity Training
* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and related Adobe products, multimedia(photo and video), and Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft products,
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentatio
