District Position <p>Curriculum Transformation .5 TERMCurriculum Coordinator Secondary (flexible day; located at the School Board Office). Effective immediately to June 30, 2025, or the return of the incumbent whichever is earlier, in whole or in part. Please refer to the Job Description Attached.Applications are invited from professionally qualified individuals for the following teaching Positions of Special Responsibility (POSR). Positions will be filled by competition (Article E21.3b). <p>For this position only and on a without precedent and prejudice basis, the successful candidate will be able to temporally reduce and post out of .5 of their current assignment to move into this Position of Special Responsibility (POSR) on a temporary basis. If applicable, the successful applicant will have their duties posted as a term specific job while they fulfil their POSR duties and will return to their regular duties at the conclusion of this temporary POSR assignment. Position Description <p>The Curriculum Coordinator Middle Years and Secondary position reports to the District Principal, Curriculum<p>Transformation and is a collaborative member of the Districts Curriculum Transformation Team. They promote<p>a collaborative approach to learning and communicates with diverse groups, including teachers, principals/vice<p>principals, support staff, parents, students and the public.Position Responsibilities <p> Collaborates with other departments and within the Curriculum Transformation Team to determine and<p>develop professional learning opportunities targeted for Grades 6-12<p> Supports instruction and assessment in all curricular areas and using curricular competencies<p> Engages in collaborative planning, demonstrating lessons and co-teaching with school-based teachers<p>teaching at the middle and secondary levels<p> Conducts professional learning opportunities in planning, instruction and formative assessment approaches<p>and facilitates discussions in ways to Communicate Student Learning (CSL) in both digital and non-digital<p>formats<p> Represents the District in local and provincial networks<p> Presents Ministry curriculum directions to various stakeholders<p> Supports the District Resources Centre (DRC) collection and access of meaningful learning resources, tools<p>and services for teachers teaching in Grades 6-12<p> Collaborates with the Inclusive Education Services Department on inclusive approaches to supporting<p>student learning (CBIEPs)<p> Facilitates and leads district-based initiatives and directions including book clubs<p> Performs other related duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications <p> Successful middle (grades 6-8) and secondary (grade 9-12) classroom teaching experience<p> Experience facilitating learning with adults<p> Experience and understanding of competency-based lesson design and inclusive instructional and<p>assessment strategiesThe starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
