Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Group home. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Perform administrative tasks. Implement life skills workshops. Liaise with the inmates' families and contacts in the community. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Developmental services worker (DSW) Training. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Target audience: Females. Persons with an intellectual disability. Persons with mental health disabilities. Persons with physical disabilities. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Security and safety: Criminal record check.
