Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Office. Tasks: Prepare detailed specifications. Work in a multidisciplinary environment. Create interior spaces that reflect clients' needs and tastes. Advise on selection of colours, finishes and materials, lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account ergonomic and occupational health standards. Develop detailed plans and 3-D models showing arrangement of walls, dividers, displays, lighting and other fixtures. Develop plans, elevations, cross sections and detailed drawings. Prepare presentation graphics and drawings. Estimate costs and materials. Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects. Operate computerized scanning machines. Create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings with computer-aided design (CAD). Create three-dimensional (3-D) models with computer-aided design (CAD). Collaborate with architects or other professionals in multidisciplinary urban design studies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Interior designer technical certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Commercial domain. Furniture design. Hospital or home for the aged.
