In this role, you will perform a variety of onsite construction tasks while assisting skilled tradespeople, ensuring the overall progress and quality of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete work, proficiency in various finishing techniques, and the physical stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks. Attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively with others are essential for maintaining a safe and efficient construction site. *Responsibilities:* *Safety* * Ensure all safety requirements are followed and met, striving for zero safety incidents. * Abide by the Stolk Construction H&S Manual, as well as the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects. * Report any jobsite injury and/or illness in an immediate manner to the appropriate Supervisor and/or Director of Operations. * Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety briefings and training as required. *Knowledge of Work and Ability* * Ability to finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, and restore and repair existing concrete structures. * Competency in concrete forming techniques to create molds for pouring new concrete. * Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure project specifications are met. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and guidelines. * Understand your role and responsibilities as they relate to a specific project. * Take advantage of opportunities to learn from those onsite. * Maintain a can-do attitude. * Participate in site preparation activities, including clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures, to facilitate the construction process. * Participate in controlled demolition activities, following safety protocols and guidelines to dismantle existing structures when necessary. *Quality* * Ensure the proper level of quality is maintained while also attaining the outlined timelines of the task. * Communicate material and equipment needs to the General Foremen / Supervisor in a proactive manner. * Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris, sweeping, and disposing of waste materials appropriately. * Track and properly manage all company tools and equipment assigned to you. * Follow instruction in an effort to complete tasks correctly the first time. * Be open minded to coaching and development opportunities. * Submit accurately completely paperwork in a timely manner. *Qualifications* * Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar role within the construction industry. * Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools specific to concrete work. * Knowledge of concrete forming methods and masonry skills. * Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, carrying heavy objects, and working in varying weather conditio- LocationPort Colborne, ON
