Regional District of Bulkley-NechakoDeputy Director of Planning and Development ServicesThe Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is seeking applicants to fill the role of Deputy Director of Planning and Development Services. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development Services, the Deputy Director assists the Director in overseeing and coordinating the operations of the Planning and Development Services Department, which provides the following services:land use planning and the regulation of land use and development; building permitting and inspection; bylaw enforcement; geographic information systems; parks and trails; and regional transitThis is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Professional Planner with five (5) or more years of related experience with an interest in obtaining senior management experience. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of land use and community planning, a good understanding of local government development review and approval processes, and a practical results driven approach to the work. A notable component of the position will involve taking the lead in an initiative in cooperation with member municipalities to increase market and non-market housing in the region. Candidates require the ability to coordinate a variety of managerial responsibilities under time constraints while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, and interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively write correspondence, conduct research, prepare reports, and positively contribute to a team environment are essential for this position. The preferred candidate will possess a degree in Planning or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.The starting wage for the Deputy Director position is $56.03 per hour and includes a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
