Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Supervise workers and projects. Estimate costs and materials. Troubleshoot and isolate faults. Splice, join and connect wires. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Project management. Interpret electrical code specifications. Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems. Install underground wiring and cables. Design and construct low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter installations. Provide customer service. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes. Plan and organize daily operations. Determine materials required. Coordinate work activities to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Flexibility.
