*Job description* We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Refinish/Prepping Technician to join our team. As an Refinish/Prepping Technician, you will be responsible the meticulous refinishing to ensure a quality refinished repair of each customer?s vehicle to restore it back to pre-accident condition. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and expertise in automotive repair. *Responsibilities* * Completes surface preparation, vehicle masking, priming and top coating * Applies all primers, sealers, basecoats, colour coats and clear coats with correct formulations as per paint manufacturer specifications * Refinishes vehicle as per insurance guidelines and Assured Automotive?s quality standards * Inspects body and prep repairs for deficiencies that may impact the quality of the refinish process; advise production supervisor as required * Accountable for ensuring all required line items as per the Repair Orders (RO) are completed to meet quality standards * Performs all refinish procedures according to factory specifications * Ensures all paint deficiencies are corrected through wet sand and polishing (i.e. runs, dirt nibs, etc.) * Accurately mixes paint to ensure quality colour match * Follows vendor procedures to maintain all tools and equipment, including maintenance of paint booth and booth filters * Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe and productive environment. *Education and/or Experience Required* * High School Diploma or equivalent * A minimum of 3 years previous experience in a collision repair facility refinish role * Provincial College of Trades Member preferred *Skills* To excel in this role, you should have the following skills: * Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in automotive repair. * Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. * Attention to detail and ability to perform precise repairs. * Knowledge of standard operating procedures is a plus. * Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required If you are a skilled Auto Body Technician looking for a challenging opportunity with room for growth, we encourage you to apply.
