The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the organization. This role is based in our Abbotsford location and this role is a fully onsite role. *Duties & Responsibilities* * Manage the daily operations of the accounting department including the AP / AR team. * Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce monthly / quarterly / annual financial reports or statements. * Manage vendor relationships and customer relationships for collections. * Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. * Provide recommendations for improving procedures and systems for greater accuracy and efficiency. * Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations. * Develop and maintain financial databases and reports. * Mentor and train junior staff as needed. * Participate in financial planning, analysis, and forecasting. * Assist with preparing and monitoring budget and cash flow projections. * Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts. * Perform account reconciliations. * Investigate account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance. * Perform other related duties as required in all the daily accounting functions and take ownership over the month-end process. * Other duties as assigned by your supervisor. *Working Conditions* * Production facility environment. * Steel toes and other personal protective equipment required when walking around production /warehouse floor. *Education & Experience* * Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred. * 5 years? experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role. * Experience with US GAAP is preferred but not required. * Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. * Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes. * Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. * Experience in manufacturing industry is an asset. * ERP and accounting software experience preferred. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Legally authorized to work in Canada.
