We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will play a key role in supporting the financial health of the organization.
This role is based in our Abbotsford location and this role is a fully onsite role.
*Duties & Responsibilities*
* Manage the daily operations of the accounting department including the AP / AR team.
* Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce monthly / quarterly / annual financial reports or statements.
* Manage vendor relationships and customer relationships for collections.
* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
* Provide recommendations for improving procedures and systems for greater accuracy and efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
* Develop and maintain financial databases and reports.
* Mentor and train junior staff as needed.
* Participate in financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.
* Assist with preparing and monitoring budget and cash flow projections.
* Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
* Perform account reconciliations.
* Investigate account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
* Perform other related duties as required in all the daily accounting functions and take ownership over the month-end process.
* Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
*Working Conditions*
* Production facility environment.
* Steel toes and other personal protective equipment required when walking around production /warehouse floor.
*Education & Experience*
* Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
* 5 years? experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
* Experience with US GAAP is preferred but not required.
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
* Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
* Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
* Experience in manufacturing industry is an asset.
* ERP and accounting software experience preferred.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
