GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR(Casual)Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, sports, recreation and arts amenities. Our dedicated staff deliver services, operate facilities, and run the programs that enhance the well-being of our community.The District of West Vancouver offers a wide range of health & fitness activities including a dynamic and diverse Group Fitness Schedule at both the West Vancouver Community Centre and the Gleneagles Community Centre. We have an immediate opening for a casual Group Fitness Instructor for subbing work, leading to more regular classes.We are seeking a certified and experienced, high-energy Group Fitness Instructor who can teach a choreographed one-hour class that includes some resistance work (weights, bands, mat etc.) and a solid stretch at the end.The successful candidate will possess a current BCRPA Group Fitness Certification or an equivalent Group Fitness professional certification, current First Aid and CPR. Weekend and evening availability would be considered assets. The ability to teach several formats (Ball, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates) will be considered an asset. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to demonstrate their teaching skills. Preference will be given to candidates who can work at both facilities.This position offers competitive wages and "in-house" instructor training workshops.
