The District offers its respect to the Knowledge Keepers and all First Peoples who have been on these lands since time immemorial.<p><p> HVAC Technician <p>Competition: S-24-423 <p>Location/Dept: Maintenance <p>Hours: 40.00 Monday to Friday <p>Start Date: As soon as possible <p>Term of Employment: Continuing <p>Salary: $44.86 per hour (Additional Trades Premium to be added) <p>Posted Date: September 23, 2024<p> <p>Application Deadline: 4:00 P.M., Monday, November 25, 2024 <p><p>SUMMARY <p>Reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and the Mechanical Manager and works under the direction of the Foreperson - Mechanical. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation tasks including renovations and modifications on HVAC systems. Performs minor elements of other trades.<p>QUALIFICATIONS <p><p> Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent.<p> Completion of B.C. Trades Qualification or Inter-Provincial Certificate in HVAC/Refrigeration.<p> Must have a Class "B" gas ticket. A Class "A" gas ticket is an asset.<p> Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade. Skill in the use of tools of the trade. <p> Familiarity and experience working with DCC systems, HVAC controls, and hydronic heating systems. <p> Must have knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of heat pumps.<p> Experience servicing boilers would be considered an asset.<p> Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and control schematics.<p> Ability to safely operate and maintain a large variety of machinery.<p> Valid B.C. Driver's License. Safe driving record. <p> Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.<p> Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to use judgement when providing information.<p> Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew.<p> Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulation, codes, and methods.<p> Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations.
