Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Commercial. Industrial. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials. Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster. Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials. Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures. Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures. Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces. Equipment and machinery experience: Concrete finishing machine.
