Peace River Regional DistrictEmergency Management OfficerFull Time, Permanent Exempt Position Position OverviewReporting to the General Manager of Community Services or designate, the Emergency Management Officer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of the PRRD?s risk and emergency management programs and emergency responses. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in emergency management or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as an emergency management professional in a local government organization is preferred, including experience and/or completion of training in Emergency Support Services and Emergency Operations Centre. Effective communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills in both written and oral formats is required. Experience working within first responder organizations is an asset. Experience and knowledge of provincial, and local government legislation and applicable legal principles as well as Statutes and Regulations related to the role, a thorough understanding of the BC Emergency & Disaster Management Act is essential. Additional InformationThe hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with one hour for lunch. This exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $84,566 to $99,489, benefits package, and an excellent team.
