*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for providing medication management, counseling patients, and supporting healthcare providers in optimizing therapeutic outcomes.
*Responsibilities*
* Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of prescribed medications.
* Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
* Provide patient education on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized medication plans for patients, particularly in acute care settings.
* Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication regimens as necessary to improve health results.
* Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions.
* Stay informed about new medications, therapies, and advancements in pharmacy practice.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to medication safety and patient care.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, particularly in acute care environments.
* Experience or familiarity with pediatrics is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in medication administration techniques and protocols.
* Excellent patient care skills with a focus on improving health outcomes through effective medication management.
* Solid understanding of medical terminology to facilitate clear communication with healthcare teams.
* Strong analytical skills to assess patient needs and make informed decisions regarding medication therapy.
* Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $56.65-$60.81 per hour
Expected hours: 30 ? 40 per week

Experience:
* Medication administration: 2 years (required)
* Patient care: 1 year (required)
* Analysis skills: 1 year (required)
* Medical terminology: 1 year (preferred)
Language:
* Ability to communicate in English (required)
Licence/Certification:
* License to practice in the Province of Alberta. (required)
* Registered with Alberta College of Pharmacist. (required)
