Position: School Psychologist 1<p>Department: Education Support Services<p>Internal/External: Internal/External<p>Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time<p>Union: NBUPPE<p>Hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday thru Friday<p>Reports to: Director, Education Support Services<p><p><p>The Child and Youth ISD team provides integrated assessment and intervention services to children, youth and families with identified multiple needs as defined by the 5 core areas of development (health and wellness; emotional and behavioral functioning; family relationships; educational development and mental health). This service is based on an Integrated Service Delivery framework that includes the collaboration of the Departments of Health, Education, Social Development and Public Safety. C&Y teams are comprised of Addiction and Mental Health Clinicians (social workers, clinical psychologists and nurses), School Psychologists, School Social Workers, Community Support Workers and Education Support Teachers - School Counselling.<p><p>Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and Education Support Services Designate within the Integrated Service Delivery, the School Psychologist I will be responsible to:<p>? provide a broad range of professional psychological services in the school system to the areas of student learning and behaviour, understanding of child and adolescent exceptionalities and psychological adjustment.<p>? consult with teachers, administrators, other school personnel, and parents in a collaborative process of defining problems and developing appropriate programs and interventions.<p>? be involved in individual student psychological assessments, in-service education, participation in the development and implementation of preventive and crisis response programs, program evaluation.<p>? Travel is required.<p>Qualifications: <p>A Master?s or Doctoral degree in Psychology with course work and experience to meet the requirements for licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick. Successful completion of course work in child and adolescent development as well as child and adolescent exceptionalities are required. Experience in school psychology is desirable. The successful candidate must be capable of working both independently and in a collaborative manner with students, parents, teachers, Child and Youth Teams, and Education Support Services Teams. Knowledge of school-based decision-making and policies would be an asset.<p>Necessary Special Requirement: <p>Licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick or application pending.<p>Salary: <p>In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees-Professional Support Group Collective Agreement. If you are not eligible for licensure as a Psychologist I, candidates will be considered for employment as a Psychometrist II until meeting requirements for licensure.<p><p>This is an open competition; however, in accordance with The New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees Union Collective Agreement, should unionized employees under this bargaining group apply, employees shall be selected on the basis of their skill, ability, and qualifications.
