Fredericton Homeless Shelters, Inc is a non- profit charitable organization that provides shelter to individuals who are experiencing homelessness. We create safe and stable housing that promotes self-determination and restores dignity to its residents. With our Continuum of Care 23-hour model, and holistic transitional planning support, we are a housing focused shelter. We are THE agency that changes people's lives.The OOTC Shelter operates from mid December to April and is open from 8pm-8am. This space allows individuals who are experiencing homelessness to have a warm and safe place to spend the night.We are seeking a Full time Manager for the Out of the Cold Shelter (OOTC) to join our team. Opening/closing is December 2024-April 2025, with the possiblilty to stay on with the organization after it closes.Requirements One year managerial experience Up to date First Aid/CPR is desiredAble and willing to work nights (8pm-8am)Strong skills in the following:· Leadership abilities· Excellent communication skills (active listening skills)· Ability to maintain respectful relationships· Strong problem solving skills· Works collaboratively with all staff, volunteers and community partners· Provides guidance, training and direct supervision of staff· Schedules staff, ensuring staffing levels at all times· Responsible for effective staff training and orientation· Creates a supportive environment for staff and clients· Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, addictions, trauma, domestic violence· Ability to work calmly in highly charged situations and with clients experiencing crisisWorking Conditions· Shifts are from 8pm until 8am· Occasional work outside of the scheduled hours· On CallWhat we offer:· Competitive compensation· Healthcare Benefits after three months· Employee Assistant Program immediately· Casual Dress· On site parking· Paid time offRequired· Criminal Record check· Social Development Vulnerable Persons Record Check· ReferencesLanguage Prefence: English EssentialWork Location: In person- LocationFredericton, NB
