Job Summary: We are seeking a full time college or university student to do Home Renovations as a leader on our team. The ideal candidate will have experience painting, be strong enough to do heavy labour, have a valid drivers license and ideally be comfortable driving Uhaul small trucks or be willing to learn quickly. You will be responsible for cleaning up a 100 year old house including in Central Halifax. Duties: - dig out part of basement - some (relatively light) demolition - taking materials to the dump - cleaning the house with bleach - painting the house with Bin sealer (strong smelling sealer) and finish coat paint - other home renovation tasks - ensuring high-quality workmanship - working on your own effectively and efficiently in hard work for long hours Other duties: - creating and updating a website for this property and two others - floor plan measurements and assistance with floor plan creation - Light Carpentry: Utilize carpentry skills to construct, install, or repair structures and fixtures. - Building: Manage the construction process - Concrete Forming may be required: Create forms for pouring concrete - Restoration: Restore damaged areas to original condition - plaster and wood putty - Cabinet Installation: Install cabinets in kitchens, bathrooms, or other areas as required. - Construction Estimating: Provide accurate estimates for materials, labor, and project timelines. - Flooring and/or Tile Laying: Lay tiles in various patterns for floors, walls, or other surfaces. Qualifications: - Proven experience in home renovations or a related field. - Strong knowledge and skills in carpentry, building, concrete forming, restoration, construction painting, cabinet installation, construction estimating, plumbing and tile laying. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship. - Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
