*Note: This role works primarily from home, with travel to client locations in Ontario. Candidates must be able and willing to travel to client locations. Periodic travel to TriCert's office in Waterloo may also be required. *
*Duties and Responsibilities: *
As Portfolio Managers, TriCert Investment Counsel manages investment portfolios for families, individuals, private companies, estates, and trusts. As a result of ongoing growth, we are seeking a?Portfolio Manager to perform the following tasks:
· Evaluate client objectives and risk tolerance, formulate investment solutions based on client circumstances, and develop and execute appropriate Investment Policy Statements. This involves collecting client personal information, determining asset allocation, and addressing special needs and liquidity requirements.
· Assess securities for in-kind transfer due to capital gain/loss reasons, evaluate segregated stocks and bonds for classification, suitability, and implementation strategies. Review credit quality and duration of fixed income investments, and analyze industry, sector, and country allocation concerning equity investments.
· Communicate and elucidate our investment strategy to clients, covering management style, TriCert's strategic and tactical views on markets and the economy, and overall portfolio performance.
· Perform ongoing client reviews including discussion of portfolio performance, periodic reviews of appropriateness of objectives, tax situations and cash flow needs.
· Examine and assess economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements, and various other indicators and factors to determine suitable investment strategies.
· Monitor financial media and keep track of market trends, opportunities, risks, and new investment products.
· Responsible for understanding and applying all TriCert Investment Counsel?s policies and procedures.
· Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes or creating efficiencies related to the Portfolio Management practice.
· Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
*Requirements:*
· Hold a bachelor?s degree in finance/accounting or a related field. A master?s degree in finance is advantageous, but not required.
· Possess 5+ years of experience in Investment and Portfolio Management, specifically delivering discretionary investment management services to high-net-worth clients.
· Must be registered or could become immediately registered with the appropriate provincial securities commission as an Advising Representative.
o CFA charter is ideal.
o CIM coupled with several years of quality investment industry experience may be acceptable.
· Have broad-based business experience, supporting and collaborating in the wealth space and delivering services to external clients.
· Possess knowledge and understanding of macro-economics and their potential financial impact on clients' investment portfolios.
· Ability to articulate the firm?s macro view of the economy, markets, and global issues, incorporating this perspective
