*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing resident nutrition and hydration care and documenting this care in compliance with regulatory standards as well as Willow Lodge policy and procedure. Resident nutritional status will be assessed on admission and every six months thereafter or whenever there is a significant change in status. The Dietitian will develop the home's seasonal menus in collaboration with care staff, be responsible for monthly submissions to the in-house newsletter, participation in weekly multidisciplinary meetings, pharmacy meetings and care plan reviews. This role requires a strong understanding of dietary practices and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents, including evaluating dietary habits and health conditions..
* Collaborate with care staff to integrate dietary recommendations into patient care plans.
* Maintain accurate medical records of resident assessments, interventions, and progress.
* Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure adherence to dietary plans.
* Stay updated on the latest research and trends in nutrition and dietetics.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor of Science with major in Human Nutrition from an accredited institution.
* Completion of an approved Dietetic Internship.
* Experience in a long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
* Proficiency in computer operation for documentation and reporting purposes.
* Current membership in Nova Scotia Dietetic Association required.
* Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is advantageous.
* Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination and time management skills.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
