<p>Comp. 24-543<p>Closing date : 2024-11-11 @ 4:00 pm EST <p> Monitor <p> Location: Elk Lake Public School <p>Start date : As soon as possible<p>Vacancy Details: 1.0 ( 2 hours per day) - until June 26, 2025<p><p> Job Summary <p>Supervision Monitors provide general supervision and monitoring of students during nutrition breaks, recess, departure, and arrival times, both indoors and outdoors.<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.<p> Education Requirements <p>Grade 12 diploma or equivalent <p>Experience working with school aged children<p> Skills and Ability Requirements <p><p> Demonstrate care and concern for the safety of all students.<p> Ability to keep your attention to the safety of the students <p> Promptness and dependability. <p> Good communication and interpersonal skills. <p> Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team in cooperation with the school staff.<p> Willingness to address disciplinary issues and to report them to administration.<p> Ability to treat all students in a respectful, responsible, and fair manner.<p> Ability to demonstrate appropriate responses to student-initiated interactions.<p> Ability to maintain confidentiality as the norm in all issues related to students, parents, and school.<p> Physically able to perform duties outside in all forms of weather. <p> Physically able to climb stairs and walk distances during supervision.<p> First aid and CPR an asset.<p><p> Essential Requirements <p><p> Monitor and assist with arrival and departure of students during bus duty. <p> Organize students upon arrival and departure in an orderly manner. <p> Monitor outside yard duty during all recess periods. <p> Supervise hallways, classroom, and bathroom checks.<p> Monitor classrooms/lunch areas during breaks.<p> Monitor students in designated areas during inclement weather. <p> Ensure adherence to all COVID-19 and school safety protocols.<p> Always ensure the security and safety of students.<p> Address disciplinary issues and report any concerns regarding student behaviour to the Principal/Vice Principal.<p> Seek out Principal/Vice Principal guidance when required.<p><p><p><p><p>Interested Candidates: <p>Postings can be found on the DSB1 website at www.dsb1.ca and on ApplytoEducation at www.applytoeducation.com.
