Facilities Services * Job Location: Facilities Services, 97 Ferndale Drive, Barrie Position Type / Hours: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 40 hours weekly Rate of Pay: $31.86 - $33.85 per hour *Job Summary: * Join a skilled and award winning team focused on excellence in facility maintenance and service. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Mechanical and Controls Systems, the HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of commercial HVAC systems including mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment in accordance with board policies and procedures, relevant regulations, codes and best practices in a safe and effective manner. If you have a positive attitude, are open to learning and developing, and like working with people to solve complex technical problems, we want to hear from you. *Skills and Qualifications:* * Secondary School Graduation Diploma. * Valid G1 Gas License, preference given to multi-license; will consider G2 Gas license for applicants working towards a G1 Gas License * Minimum 5 years and 5000 hours of previous related and/or on the job experience * Strong customer service and Effective interpersonal skills * Proven ability to work both independently and co-operatively as a member of an interdepartmental team * Proven time management, scheduling, job planning and organizational skills * 313A/313D Refrigeration/Air Conditioning license is an asset * Ability to prepare documentation for standard maintenance practices * Ability to share knowledge with colleagues for awareness building and knowledge cross- pollination * Ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes for failure finding and restoring services * Advises the Facilities Services management team of opportunities for continuous improvement * Must be comfortable using technology the position is required to use technology including the Board?s Work Management System (eBASE) with mobile technology * Standard First Aid Certification, CPR certification. * Working at Heights/Elevated Platform certification, including the ability to set up and use personnel lift equipment. * Valid Ontario Drivers License, Class G with a clean abstract. *Why Work for Us: * * Paid vacation time * Robust benefit plan including health and dental benefits * Enrolment in OMERS pension plan * Use of company vehicle for board business * All tools for on-the-job work are provided by the board * Uniform is provided * Overtime often available Interested candidates must forward, in confidence, a cover letter, resume and supporting documentation by November 13, 2024.
