District Behaviour Consultant<p>Effective December 2, 2024 Reporting<p>to the District Principal of Inclusive Education, the District Behaviour<p>Consultant works in collaboration with other members of the District Learning<p>Support team to support students with significant<p>social, emotional and behavioural needs. The range of services will include: developing<p>stabilization and transition plans for students, providing short-term direct<p>service and support to students, providing consultation to school staff in<p>developing and implementing effective plans and interventions, and providing<p>training and in-service to school and district staff as appropriate. The<p>district behaviour consultant may provide specialized ABA services to schools<p>and assist in the development of planning for individual students with complex<p>needs. Qualifications,<p>Attributes and Job Requirements : Master's degree in Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related field<p> Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification preferred.<p> Extensive knowledge, training and experience working with students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder <p> Proven behavioural management experience with children/youth with significant social, emotional and behaviour support needs<p> Demonstrated ability/experience working within a consultative model and as part of collaborative team<p> Proficiency in planning and delivering training and adult education<p> Competencies in the development, delivery and evaluation of training programs and strategies<p> Successful experience working collaboratively with community partners<p> Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills<p> Development and implementation of assessment tools to conduct functional behaviour assessments (FBA) and analyses when appropriate<p> Implement data collection systems to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for students, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.<p> Develop behaviour plans for students as required with a focus on teaching and skill development.<p> Develop and authorize behaviour plans for students with complex needs when necessary.<p> Knowledge of the BC Educational System, Ministry of Child and Family Development, Children and Youth Mental Health Supports and other community supports<p> Valid BC drivers license and a vehicle for use on the job. <p>This is a 12-month position excluded from union<p>membership <p>The District: <p>School District 71 (Comox Valley) is a positive, progressive and growing school district located on the east coast of Vancouver Island.
