If you are civic- minded and interested in making an impact on people and businesses on the beautiful North Shore, consider working for the District of North Vancouver.Our Development Engineering Department has a regular full-time opportunity for an Administration Technician 1 to provide engineering technical and administrative support.In this role you will:Evaluate and process the engineering servicing aspects of land development and building permit applications to ensure conformance with municipal engineering standards and requirements. Require and administer legal agreements relating to engineering servicing and encroachments onto municipal lands. Liaise with the public, utility companies, contractors and staff in order to provide a variety of technical information and assistance; and administer cost estimates and work order requests for the installation of water services, sewer connections and street work. You are self-motivated and skilled in performing various technical, liaison, and administrative tasks, such as calculating fees, preparing reports and correspondence, and interpreting plans and specifications. You can establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively with the public, developers, consultants, contractors, and staff. You have strong time management skills and can find practical solutions to complex problems.QualificationsYou have post-secondary technical education in engineering and technical experience, complemented by excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills in a team-based environment. Preference will be given to candidates with a Technical Certificate or Diploma in civil engineering or a related field.Experience in infrastructure construction or land development is an asset.
