Build a Future at the City of Surrey.Scope As the Trades Improver 1 (EOCP) in the Wastewater and Construction Operations section, your responsibilities will include skilled manual tasks involving considerable physical effort in the performance of a variety of construction and maintenance activities related to various municipal utility infrastructure; water, sanitary sewer, and drainage systems.Responsibilities Installing mains, service connections and related components associated to water, sanitary, and drainage systems. Assembling pipes and ensuring that tees, bends, crosses, valves and related fittings are properly installed. Installing water services using open trench, trenchless methods or combination of both. Operating (open/close/flush/repair) water valves on water mains, service connections and appurtenances. Assisting crew members in performing their duties. Using a variety of hand and power tools. Other job-related duties as assigned.QualificationsCompleted Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience and training in civil and utility construction and engineering operations and maintenance. Valid BC Driver?s license with safe driving record. Water Distribution EOCP Level 1 certification in good standing.
