Description of Assignment <p>Full Time Continuing Occupational Therapist. <p>Occupational therapy is a professional health discipline that utilizes the analysis and application of activities specifically related to performance in the areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. Occupational therapists (OT) employed by a school district work to promote, maintain, and develop the skills needed by students to be functional in a school setting. The services provided by the OT in schools includes assessments, consultation with the School Based Team, program planning and training, and assistance in treatment and equipment selection to allow all students to have their therapeutic goals included in there educational routines.<p>The Occupational Therapist will support students in schools throughout the school district. Caseload will be determined in consultation with the Director of Instruction, Inclusive Education or designate.<p>Salary <p>The salary of this assignment is based on our current salary grid and verification of years of service from previous employers. The current salary range is $75, 112.00 to $109, 520.00 per annum, paid over 10 months.<p>Special Qualifications Required <p><p> The successful candidate must be a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC<p> Previous school-aged experience would be an asset but is not essential<p> Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team<p> Have strong written and verbal communication skills<p> Applicant must possess a valid BC Driver's License and have a vehicle available for travel<p><p>Information for Applicants <p><p><p>In School District 27 it is acknowledged that we humbly work, learn, and live on the traditional, ancestral, unceded, and shared lands of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot?tin, and Dakelh people. Participants can expect to meet with the group in person (and over dinner), a minimum of 3 times. This structured series is facilitated by our Superintendent of Schools.<p>We also believe in providing Professional Development beyond the provisions of our collective agreement. The District has engaged in long term contracts with several (up to 6) educational leaders. Teachers can expect to see the educational leaders in our District, up to 2 days prior to a Professional Development Day, offering hands on coaching both in the classroom and in sessions (evening or during the Professional Development Day). <p>Our local teachers' union, the Cariboo Chilcotin Teachers' Association, also boasts strong collective agreement language regarding Professional Development as well as financial support for their members to engage in opportunities. <p>Relocation allowance may be offered with this position. <p>School District No. 27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin) is an equal opportunity employer <p><p><p>
