*Howitt Construction* is a busy earthmoving company, based out of Red Deer, who specialize in road re-construction projects, new landfill and lagoon cells, and site preparation for residential/industrial and commercial developments. We're looking for experienced scraper operators to join the team for a site development project at Dickson Dam AB. Start is ASAP, duration of project is approx 2-3 weeks, weather dependant. _*Site Specific Details*_ * Cut common from borrow pits or road cuts and place in fill areas, * Place topsoil on slopes, * Work around culverts/power poles/other equipment. Candidates should be able to perform all the skills in the Scope of Work, and work in a safe manner following all policies and procedures. _*Work Details*_ * 8am - 6pm - 10 hour shifts, * 7 days a week, loa available. * Must have valid WHMIS ticket. _*Scope of Work*_ * Complete walk arounds, * Safely operate scraper, * Identify topsoil and overburden horizons and strip topsoil cleanly, * Efficiently load and unload material, * Push/pull with one other twin-engine scraper, * Fuel & grease machine, * Identify basic machine issues & contact site supervisor, no mechanical work needed (ie. locate blown hose, understand warning lights and gauges) _*PPE Requirements*_ * High visibility vest, * Hard hat, * Steel toed boots, * Gloves. Job Type: Seasonal Pay: $33.00-$36.00 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Schedule: * Day shift Experience: * scraper: 4 years (required) Work Location: In person- LocationInnisfail, AB
