Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Examine plans, drawings and site layouts. Inspect construction of building and engineering construction. Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Enforce steel and concrete installation codes. Inspect and provide reports on condition of new or resale homes. Type of inspection: New and existing buildings. Security and safety: Bondable. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Judgement. Organized.
