Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dangerous. Noisy. Dusty. At heights. Confined spaces. Underground. Work setting: Installation. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Schedule work. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification. Gas Fitter Licence. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. CPR Certificate. Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Forklift Operator Certification. First Aid Certificate. Driver's License. Welding techniques: ARC. Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG). Resistance or spot welding. Shielded metal ARC (SMAW). Gas tungsten ARC (GTAW) (TIG). Specialization or experience: Air volume (VAC). Custom sheet metal items.
