Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. At heights. Confined spaces. Work setting: Installation. Service. Various locations. Repair. On-site fabrication. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Supervision: Sheet metal workers. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Copper or metal roofs. Custom sheet metal items. Decorative metal sheets. Eavestroughing and flashing. Roof decking. Sheeting and cladding. Stainless steel equipment. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods.
