*Job Overview* Cumberland Villas-Melville is looking to expand our team. In this newly created position as Kitchen Helper, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily kitchen operations. This position is an 7.5 hour shift on Thursdays and Fridays. *Responsibilities* * Assist chef and cooks in non-cooking food preparation. * Hand washing of pots/pans etc. * Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen including work surfaces, storage areas, appliances and equipment. * Cleaning tasks in the dining room area as assigned. * Ensure that all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations. * Receiving, unpacking and storing supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and other storage areas. * Support the team during busy service period and during special events. * Other duties as assigned *Qualifications* * Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. * Food Safety Certification * Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. * Willingness to learn * Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork. * Be able to lift up to 50lbs * To obtain a criminal record check/vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment.
