*Job Summary* We are seeking a skilled and motivated mechanical engineering technologist to join our dynamic team in our trailer manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and services while enhancing operational efficiency within our organization. This position requires proficiency in various design and analysis tools, as well as a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles. They may work independently or in a team to design, develop, and maintain machines, tools, components, and systems, etc. *Duties* * Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, and AutoCAD or similar) to create detailed technical drawings and 3D models. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is essential. * *Communicate with vendors to update and follow up on changes in drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment and timely implementation of design revisions. * * Analyze project requirements and specifications to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs. * Preparing and interpreting engineering designs, drawings, and specifications * Conducting tests and analyses to determine the performance and characteristics of machines, components, and materials * Designing tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes * Inspecting mechanical installations and construction * Preparing cost and material estimates, project schedules, and reports * Supervising mechanical maintenance programs or operations * Maintain accurate documentation of designs, changes, and project progress. * Manage time effectively to balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines. * Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for stakeholders. * Implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize processes and reduce waste. * Support product development initiatives by conducting research and testing prototypes. *Qualifications* * Proficiency in CAD, AutoCAD, or similar design software is essential. * Experience or knowledge in lean manufacturing practices is highly desirable. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. * *Familiarity with product development processes, especially related to automotive industry, is a plus.* * Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. * Strong communication skills; proficiency in English.
