Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Engine lathes. Form cutting machines. Milling machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Initiative. Team player.
