<p> <p>YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD <p>Invites applications for the position of: <p>Shortlist for: Secondary School Vice-Principal <p>The Successful Candidate will be placed on the Secondary Vice-Principal shortlist for a maximum of three (3) years. Any candidates not placed within this period of time will have to reapply to the position. <p>PLEASE NOTE: Candidates that have previously applied and been unsuccessful in two (2) consecutive postings within the last twelve (12) months will not be considered for an interview. <p>The Successful Candidate will demonstrate:<p><p> Dedication to Catholic education - a continuing desire and effort to develop and foster in staff and students a Christian community based on the Catholic Faith;<p> Commitment to the York Catholic District School Board?s Mission, and Vision and Strategic Commitments;<p> Demonstrated classroom or administrative excellence as indicated through positive performance appraisals, the interview and the application package;<p> Strong professional knowledge of child/adolescent development and learning psychology, as well as a demonstrated concern for children and youth;<p> Knowledge of required learning outcomes (i.e. quality learning and enhanced faith);<p> Possess and have demonstrated leadership qualities/abilities which foster a Catholic Learning Community and effectively carry out the duties and responsibilities required of the position (identifying barriers to inclusion, judgment, effective communication, collaboration, motivation, empathy, flexibility, dependability, resilience);<p> Commitment to advancing human rights and equity in schools and in the community; and<p> Commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.<p><p>Required Qualifications/Experience:<p><p> Religious Education AQ Part 2 , or equivalency, or commitment to completion of same or another approved program, e.g. The Catholic Leadership Program at St. Michael?s University of Toronto. Documentation to substantiate enrolment in the course must be provided at application ;<p> A participating member of a Catholic worshiping community as attested by your Parish priest via Pastoral Reference , dated by your Parish Priest within the last 12 months prior to application;<p> Ontario School Principal's Qualifications Parts I/II as per Ontario Regulation 176/10- Teachers? Qualifications, under the Ontario College of Teachers' Act. Candidates who are currently enrolled in the PQP and are within two (2) years of completion may apply and be considered for the position in accordance with Ontario Regulation 298 (Operation of Schools - General) made under the Education Act. Documentation to substantiate enrolment in the PQP must be provided at application; <p> Completion of the YCDSB Discernment Series for Aspiring Vice-Principals prior to placement;<p> Special Education Part 1 Course or the Special Education for Administrators AQ Course;<p> A minimum of seven years of successful teaching experience in a permanent position in both divisions (Immediate and Senior) with 2 years? experience in some position of responsibility (Ex.
