Nexus is a modular home and building manufacturer located in the Cowichan Valley - https://nexusmodular.ca/ We are looking for an experienced carpenter to join our team! Applicants should have: * 5+ years of relevant experience * A valid BC Driver's license * Experience in framing is required * Experience working other envelope components a plus (siding, insulation, trim and finishing, etc.) *Summary* As a Carpenter, you will be a vital team member responsible for framing of modular projects with precision and expertise. Utilizing your core skills in hand tools, construction, and woodworking, you will contribute to the successful completion of various carpentry tasks. Your skills in blueprint reading, framing, and finishing detailing will enhance your ability to deliver high-quality craftsmanship. Additionally, your relevant teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills will be valuable assets in tackling diverse projects. Join our team and showcase your carpentry skills in a collaborative and rewarding work environment. *Responsibilities* * Utilize carpentry skills to construct and finish our modular homes and suites. * Work with a variety of hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood materials and structures. * Follow blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate and precise construction. * Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines. * Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment. * Continuously improve skills and stay updated on industry trends and techniques. *What Nexus Offers* * Comprehensive benefits package. * Competitive Pay based on experience. * 40 hour work week comprised of 4x 10hr shifts (Monday - Thursday, 7am-5pm). _Every weekend is a 3 day weekend!_ * Climate controlled facility - rain or shine, heat or cold, we work inside the comfortable, dry, Nexus factory in Cobble Hill. * Power tools/equipment supplied by Nexus. * Experience in a new paradigm of construction Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: * Casual dress * Extended health care * On-site parking Work Location: In person Application deadline: 2024-11-18 Expected start date: 2024-11-25- LocationCobble Hill, BC
