We are currently seeking a Mechanical Estimating Coordinator (Sheet Metal/HVAC/ Piping). The successful candidate will provide knowledge and input into the following areas: * Assist estimating division in providing full mechanical estimates including all piping take offs. * Learning to interpreting and analyze mechanical drawings and specifications. * Coordinating efforts with suppliers and sub trades in order to compile full competitive estimates within strict deadlines. Industry knowledge and relationships are needed in order to perform well within this role. This career opportunity is a full time permanent position based near the airport. Since this is a junior position, Black Creek Mechanical is looking to hire a candidate who can grow with the team and move into more senior roles within the Estimating Division. *Key Responsibilities:* * Assist with the overall financial performance of projects awarded. * Be familiar with estimating techniques and make regular adjustments to ensure competitiveness. * Analyzes documents, specifications, proposals, addendum's in preparation for pricing * Performs estimate related oral and/or written communications with clients. * Reviewing project site prior to tender closing when required. * Performs quantity take-off from construction drawings where applicable * Obtains pricing from suppliers and incorporates into estimate * Assist in formulating all costs for tender submission ? labor, equipment, material, rentals and subcontracts * Assists in the distribution of appropriate documentation upon award of project * Provide debrief upon award to project managers and field staff * Assists with RFP?s and General Contract tender submissions * Maintains Estimating data systems to ensure they are kept up to date *Required Knowledge and Experience* * Degree in construction related topics OR 1-2 years of work experience as an estimator * Prior Operational experience an asset * Prior mechanical/piping estimating is an asset. * Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents * Good knowledge of contract language and the ability to interpret. * Good knowledge of job cost fundamentals and basic accounting / reporting principles an asset. * Self motivated leader with excellent organizational skills, and management abilities. * Strong computer skills ? MS Excel / Word / Project * Strong communication skills ? oral and written * Ability to work accurately, effectively under pressure * Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines * Ability to work with others as a team * Valid driver?s license and ability to travel as required *Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrates the following* * Proficiency with the creation and submission of prequalification documents * Knowledge and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite * High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of tender submissions *Nice to have* * Some knowledge of construction or the trades from time spent in the field as a tradesman or coordinator *Remuneration* * Salary will be based on the individual?s local relevant experience and ability * Bonus based on performance If you feel you may be a good fit, please apply with your salary expectations.
