Family owned and operated jobbing machine shop located in Surrey, BC is looking for machinist that are a good fit to our company. We have been in business for more than 30 years. We service multiple industries including forestry, pulp and paper, aggregates, marine, oil and gas, mining, heavy industry, municipalities and infrastructure projects. *Who are we looking for?* If you are a highly skilled, motivated machinist looking for a stable job, where you will be challenged, where your skills, work ethic, innovation and creativity will shine, Champion Machining is the shop for you! Strong experience working on Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical Mills, and Lathes. Job Duties & Responsibilities * Set up, and run parts on Horizontal boring mills, verticle mills or lathes * Operate manual milling equipment, such as drill press, key seater is an asset * A comprehensive understanding of tool selection, speeds and feeds, working with various materials including castings, brass/copper, super alloys, aluminum and steel. * Accurately read drawings and inspect work. Precise use of measuring equipment * Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines when required * Work well in a team environment, but can reliably work unsupervised Qualifications * Red seal machinist or equivalent experience * Demonstrated expertise on manual equipment * Good work history of reliability and dependability * Ability to communicate effectively in English WHY JOIN US?! * Stable and reliable work, we have NOT HAD A SINGLE LAY OFF SINCE 2008! * Competitive pay! * Family owned and operated * Not your typical machine shop.
