*About Us* LaHave Bakery, since opening in July 1985, has been steadfast in its mission to rise above the ordinary by embracing what was good in the past and adapting for the health and food security of the future. We?re located in the historic LaHave Outfitting Company building in beautiful LaHave, Nova Scotia. *Position Overview* We are looking for full-time and part-time shopkeepers/baristas who would like to join our team. This position is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for customers. The shopkeeper/barista is responsible for displaying and selling sweets and preserves, processing payments, taking orders for lunch items, and creating espresso based drinks using our beautiful Simonelli. *Job Responsibilities:* - Customer service skills, including being able to problem solve on the spot - Creating high quality espresso based drinks as per our company standards - Processing payments - Taking customer orders for lunch items - Maintains a clean and safe work environment - Baking prepared lunch items - Restocking resale items and creating displays for retail - Product knowledge to ensure maximum sales - Answering the phone and taking customer orders *Job Skills and Qualifications* *Required* - Customer service skills - Excellent problem solving skills - Familiarity with food safety training - Ability to work well with other team members - An understanding of basic math - Strong listening and communication skills (written and verbal) - Skilled in multitasking, task prioritization and time management - Able to lift up to 25lbs - A passion for food and people *Preferred* - Customer service experience an asset - Food safety certificate - Barista experience an asset - Merchandizing experience an asset *Benefits and Perks* - Employee health benefits plan for full-time employees - Staff discount on in-house groceries - One loaf of free bread every two shifts - Tea, coffee and soup every shift *Pay* Pay scale starting at $16.00/hr plus a guaranteed gratuity, after completion of 1 month probationary period. *Job Application* LaHave Bakery strives to offer and support a kind, co-operative workplace that is respectful, welcoming and inclusive of all people.
