Interested in joining our thriving team? *Job Summary:* We are currently looking for a Lead Welder to join our facility in Elmira, ON. Our ideal candidate is a positive, self-motivated person with high standards of workmanship. This person is focused on producing quality products while successfully contributing to the productivity and efficiency of the team. This is a full-time permanent position, working approximately 50 hours per week Monday to Friday on a Straight Day Shift. *Why Join Us?* * Opportunity to showcase your welding expertise in a dynamic work environment * Collaborate with a skilled team dedicated to quality and excellence * Excellent compensation package including competitive wage, Health Care Spending Account, bonuses, and a defined contribution pension plan * Take advantage of growth and development opportunities in an established and successful organization *Responsibilities:* * Accurately read and analyze blueprints and drawings * Prepare, assemble and weld pieces of metal and/or structures as per specifications * Use various industry specific jigs to assemble components * Operate various tools and equipment to assist in assembling structures * Work with sheet metal and perform structural fillet welding * Oversee other welders and be first point of contact for questions and guidance * Mentor junior welders (assign their priorities and provide assistance as needed) * Maintain quality control measures * Adhere to safety standards * Work closely with Shop Supervisor to maintain schedules and manage priorities *Skills and Experience Required:* * Minimum 5 years of welding experience * Minimum 2 years work experience in a lead role/training others * Skilled in fitting and welding of steel structures and sheet metal * Competent with using bandsaw, drill press, ironworker, and various welders * Capable of working under pressure and pushing through challenging rush part scenarios * Ability to motivate others by example * Strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills _We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
