We are currently looking for new *Cannabis Cultivation Technicians* to join our Cultivation department with either a *degree or diploma* from a post-secondary institution in a related scientific field such as *Agriculture, Horticulture, Biology etc..*
*Responsibilities: *
* *Cultivation:* Oversee the entire lifecycle of cannabis plants. Implement sustainable cultivation practices, including sustainable pest control and preventative measures.
* *Quality Assurance:* Adhere to strict quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the highest quality cannabis products.
* *Equipment Maintenance:* Calibrate and maintain cultivation equipment to optimize plant health and yield.
* *Record Keeping:* Maintain detailed records for traceability and compliance purposes.
* *Plant Care:* Assist with plant trimming and ongoing care to promote healthy growth and development.
* *Irrigation:* Master both manual and automated watering techniques to ensure efficient irrigation.
* *Nutrient Management:* Prepare nutrient and bio-control solutions to support optimal plant growth.
* *Research and Development:* Contribute to research and development initiatives to continuously improve cultivation methods.
* *Safety:* Prioritize safety by learning and following protocols for handling concentrated materials.
* *Workplace Maintenance:* Maintain a safe and clean work environment by sanitizing equipment and facilities.
*Qualifications: *
* *Degree or diploma in a related scientific field like Agriculture, Biology, or Horticulture.*
* Strong interest in the cannabis industry and a passion for sustainable cultivation practices
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Detail-oriented and organized
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
* Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures
*Requirements: *
* Located in the Edmonton Area.
* Strong background in plant science with experience in GAP and HACCP regulated environments.
* General proficiency in plant maintenance and cultivation practices.
* Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, walking, moving equipment, stairs) with repetitive tasks (trimming, harvesting, packaging).
* Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (22kg).
* Comfortable with squatting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing cleaning tasks.
* Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including sanitary clothing, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection.
* *Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide proof upon employment. *
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
