Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Work setting: Construction. Repair. Maintenance. Commercial. Institutional. Residential. Installation. Tasks: Professionalism in customer service. Install underground wiring and cables. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Splice, join and connect wires. Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits. Troubleshoot and isolate faults. Install surface mount and/or overhead cables. Instruct apprentices. Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems. Supervise other workers. Ground and bond electrical equipment, systems and structures including swimming pools and hot tubs. Estimate costs and materials. Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures. Conduct preventive maintenance programs. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Electrician Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Equipment and machinery experience: Conventional electrical devices. Hand tools. Area of work experience: Quality assurance or control. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Area of specialization: Emergency power system. Fire alarm system. Lighting system. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation.
