The new transitional housing project at 65 Delhi will be an integral part of the housing continuum. The project will address the significant challenges created in moving at-risk individuals into long-term, permanent housing. Isolation, the pressure of maintaining housing, and disconnection from support often lead to a return to homelessness and significant risk to life. The success of 65 Delhi will be achieved through partnership, allyship, and authentic collaboration with both clients and sector partners. These partnerships provide the highest possible opportunity for clients who are managing severe and persistent mental health and substance-use issues, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to maintain stable, long-term housing post discharge. Over time, the project will continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of our population and the broader community. *SUMMARY OF THE POSITION* The Behavioural Therapistwillrespond to organizational needs specific to the behavioural presentation of supported individuals, provide direction to team members in situations related to an individual?s escalation of behaviour, behaviour support strategies, serious occurrences and incident reports. The Behaviour Therapist will provide intervention services to adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use issues, participate in teaching life skills, and help in developing individual readiness for independent housing. The Behaviour Therapist will provide services such as direct behavioural therapy at various intensities to individuals or small groups. The Behaviour Therapist role focuses on reducing harm and promoting positive behaviour change through a trauma-informed perspective. *Rate: *$24.61 to $29.50 per hour *Benefits:* Float Holiday Health and Dental Benefits RRSP 5% matched after 1 year Above ESA standard vacation entitlement 12 Sick days per year *HOURS OF WORK* This position works forty (40) hours per week and will take part in the Agency on-call rotation system. *Schedule:* Rotating schedule of Mondays to Fridays 3:30pm-11:30pm and Mondays to Fridays 7:30am-3:30pm *ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:* * Minimum of a relevant University Degree or College Health Sciences/Social Services Diploma. * Certificates in Behavioural Therapy considered a strong asset. * At least 1-2 years? experience providing behavioural therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation in a community mental health setting, working with adults recovering from serious mental illness. * Certification in First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and suicide risk assessment preferred. * Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic record keeping and data collection systems. * Must have a valid Ontario driver?s license, relevant insurance and use of a reliable vehicle. * Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check. * Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the individuals supported.
