Primary responsibility for provision of complete nursing care will be in the Endoscopic Unit and possible secondary duties related to provision of care in areas of Day Surgery and Pre-Admission Clinic (PAC). The position will report to the Manager of Endoscopy, Surgical Short Stay, and Inpatient Surgical Services. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.Physical Demands:? Constantly moves/lifts to 10-15lbs, regularly moves/lifts to 50lbs; required to restrain/reposition/move/lift to, or above, 50lbs with co-worker assistance and repetitively required to complete pushing/pulling with medium force (22-44lbsF).? Constantly stands/walks. May work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with care. Work repetitively involves reaching/stretching, bending/twisting and repeated bouts of low-level postures such as squatting, crouching or stooping? Potential for exposure to blood, bodily fluids and/or other contagion. May be exposed to patients/residents with potential risk for aggressive behavior.? Work Environments present potential for exposure to scented/chemical products and/or other allergens within publicly accessible areas.Required qualifications:? Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.? Current registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.? Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.? Consistent demonstration of NL Health Services: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (I CARE).? Demonstrated competency in working to the full scope of practice (as per the CRNNL and Central Health's policies and procedures) and standards of care relevant to designated client population.? Current BLS certification.? Two years nursing experience.? Current ACLS and Health Assessment certification or must be willing to complete next available course.? Demonstrated ability to work independently. ? Demonstrated strong organizational skills.? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.? A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.? Successful candidate will be required to complete after hours on-call on a rotational basis.Preferred qualifications:? Recent Endoscopy experience (within the last 2 years).
