*Role Overview*: As a Psychotherapist at Desson Pilon Counselling and Psychotherapy you will provide psychotherapy services to clients, offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You will work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans, assist them in overcoming personal challenges, and support their journey towards mental health and emotional balance.
This position is ideal for a registered psychotherapist in good standing with the CRPO, who is committed to supporting clients and looking to grow their skills as a psychotherapist. The nature of this position is as an independent contractor.
*Key Responsibilities*:
* Provide individual, couples, and/or children and youth psychotherapy sessions based on client needs and treatment goals.
* Maintain a full-time caseload (between 15-20 clients a week).
* Assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and maintain ongoing progress evaluations.
* Utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, etc.) to work with clients with a variety of presenting concerns.
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
* Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, including referrals for additional services if necessary.
* Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities as required by the CRPO.
* Participate in regular peer supervision within the organization.
*Required Qualifications*:
* A Master?s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
* Fully registered psychotherapists in good standing with the CRPO (Qualifying members will also be considered).
* Experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and/or children and youth.
* Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic, etc.).
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
* Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude.
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in all client interactions.
* If required under your registration category, maintain regular supervision with a qualified supervisor in accordance with CRPO guidelines.
* Maintains professional liability insurance with a reputable organization, or possesses the willingness to obtain this.
