The general duties and responsibilities for a Certified Tow Truck Driver for All Ontario Recycling are listed as follows:
Responsibilities:
· Obtain information about the vehicle you are servicing from the dispatcher via radio or phone (i.e., vehicle make and model, colour, location, and customer name.)
· Drive the truck to the vehicle?s location.
· Speak with the customer to learn the details of the vehicle?s problem.
· Explain how you will be removing the vehicle. You must be able to remain helpful and polite while dealing with customers who may be anxious, angry, or otherwise upset.
· Make simple repairs (i.e., replacing flat tires or spark plugs, jumping batteries, fixing disconnected/broken wires and always keep truck clean.)
· Attach cables, chains or other equipment and safely winch the vehicle to towing elevation or onto the truck flatbed. Connect any necessary lights to the back of the vehicle.
· Tow the vehicle safely to the yard. You must observe all traffic laws and drive at a safe speed for the weather and road conditions.
· Accept and record payments and provide a receipt. Note the services rendered, cost of the services and the payment method.
· Create reports and fill out all logbooks as required by federal and provincial laws of each service call. (i.e., include the date, time and location of the service, information about the car, a description of the services you performed and the distance you towed the vehicle.)
· Assist with other duties in the yard when necessary.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years experience in tow trucking
· Valid DZ Licence
· Must be Tow Truck certified
· Clean CVOR and Abstract
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 ? 55 per week
