Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment. Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Perform other duties related to personal care. Supply and empty bed pans. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Collect specimens. Co-ordinate in-house laundry services. Bundle, label, bag and route mail into the proper delivery stream. Assess patients' physical abilities. Make beds and change sheets. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Area of specialization: Customs services. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
